"Because he has loved me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known my name. Psalm 91:14
Our challenge today!
If God is for you then who can be against you? It's easy to forget that a mighty God protects us when the weight of our trouble is pressing against us, but we are reminded here that because we have loved Him, he will bless us. When times are difficult and nothing seems to go our way, when we feel all alone with no one to call on, and when fear of the future is hovering above our heads, Jesus will help us! Even if you are like David in Psalm 8 and ask God "why would you ever?" "What is man that thou art mindful of him?" Jesus has a reason to help and here is His reason. Because you have set your love on Him, that's why! Because you have known (called on) His name, that's why! If you love Jesus, know that Jesus is for you! Therefore who can be against you!
Set your love on Jesus today and He will set you securely on high!
"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he reap." Galatians 6:7
Our challenge today!
What you give is exactly what you will get! There are many ways this has been said in the past, no matter how it is said it remains true except with Jesus, I think about this verse and how true it is, but I also think about God's grace. Romans 5:8 tells us that Jesus died for us while we were still yet in sin, even when we did not deserve it!We deserved God's wrath because of our sin, but instead he gave us grace by sending his only begotten son to die so that we may live in heaven for eternity! In this case, we have not reaped what we sowed because of God's grace!
I thank God for his great grace because he gives us what we do not deserve and what we do deserve he withholds from us.
"Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful creator." 1Peter 4:19
Our challenge today!
In John chapter 9:2 Jesus and his disciples saw a man who was blind from birth and his disciples asked him: "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" See many people believe just like the disciples did, they believe because someone is suffering they must have sinned! This is not true, Jesus told the disciples: "Neither this man or his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him." Sometimes when we suffer it isn't because we have sinned, but rather that God's miracles will be seen as he saves us or delivers us from our troubles. Are you suffering today and someone has thought this is because you have done wrong?
Commit your soul to Jesus and continue to do your best, he will work out all the rest!
Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar all accused Job saying he must have sinned against God because he was suffering all manner of horrible things in his life, in the end Job suffered for God's glory and his three friends had to apologize. Job 42
"For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost!" Luke 19:10
Our challenge today!
The # 1 New York Times Best Seller, The Purpose Driven Life written by Rick Warren answers the question:
"What on earth am I here for?"
Have you thought about that question lately? What purpose are you here for?
The Son of Man, Jesus Christ came from heaven to the earth for a purpose, his life and death and resurrection was all about this one purpose: To seek and to save the lost. Maybe this is your purpose also! Although we cannot save a soul in our own power, we can participate in this great work in which Jesus came to do by surrendering our lives unto Jesus Christ for His purpose, we can be used to win souls for the kingdom of God.
You may say, "I am not responsible for another person, whether or not they believe, and in some part this is true, however we do have a responsibility towards God, and God has commanded us that we should preach the gospel, contend for the faith, love one another, and do good always. What better thing is there in life, than to see another come to Christ and what better thing is there in death, than to know that we did our part?
"And he who is wise wins souls." Proverbs 11:30
